A broken lite, fixed locally.
Replacement glass made near the job to the original specification, with no waiting on a container.
A broken lite is fixed locally, not by ocean freight.
Every insulated glass unit we ship is built to a recorded specification. When a lite breaks on the jobsite or a seal fails, we send that specification to a partnering glass fabricator near the job, and the replacement is made as close to the original as the local market allows: same thickness, size, gas fill and tempering, with the nearest matching Low-E coating and spacer.
Foil-faced rigid foam board and low-residue exterior tape can be made available. Cut the board to the opening and close it the same day, so the house stays dry while the replacement is made.
The order number and unit mark from the frame label, a photo of the damage, and a photo of the etched mark in the corner of the glass.
The exact makeup for that lite comes from the order record: glass thickness, Low-E coating, argon fill, spacer and size.
A partnering fabricator builds and tempers the unit as close as possible to the original, with no ocean wait. You collect it or we arrange delivery.
Where only the original will do, such as a certified Reserve unit or a coating that must match its neighbors exactly, the replacement is made at the factory and ships in our next container.
A failed seal or a manufacturing defect is covered under the Limited Warranty, labor not included. Breakage on site is site damage and is billed at cost.
